Specialty chemicals, known as coagulants, are used in wastewater treatment to bind suspended particles into small clumps, or "pin flocs." They can be inorganic, organic, or a hybrid of both. The most effective way to select the right coagulant is by performing a Jar Test. These chemicals are essential in systems like Effluent Treatment Plants (ETPs) and Dissolved Air Flotation (DAFs), where they not only improve treatment efficiency in both primary and tertiary stages but also help reduce the overall volume of sludge produced.

Specialty Coagulants

★ ★ SD WATER LAB'S specialty coagulants include SDLAB, 7821E, SDLAB 7163E, SDLAB 7178E, SDLAB 7822E & many more.

Color Removal Chemicals

These chemicals are primarily used to remove color in effluent treatment plants (ETPs). They can partially or completely substitute the conventional chemicals typically used for color removal in ETPs. Their use helps minimize overall sludge generation, thereby lowering sludge disposal costs. Additionally, they do not increase the total dissolved solids (TDS) in the water, which is especially advantageous when the water is recycled through a reverse osmosis (RO) system.

These chemicals are used in the aeration process of effluent treatment plants (ETPs) and sewage treatment plants (STPs). They assist in lowering the COD and BOD levels of the effluent while maintaining healthy bacterial activity. SD WATER LAB also offers chemicals that support the initial start-up of ETPs and STPs by promoting the growth of bacteria. Additionally, these chemicals help control and reduce foul odors in the treatment plants.

Bio Culture/STP Chemicals /EM Solutions

Polyectrolytes (Flocculants)

These chemicals act as flocculants to promote the formation of larger flocs in effluent treatment plants (ETPs) and are also used in sludge dewatering processes. The optimal dosage can be determined through a jar test. SD WATER LAB offers a wide range of liquid and solid polyelectrolytes, including anionic, cationic, and non-ionic types.

★ ★ SD WATER LAB'S polyelectrolytes include SDLAB7103, SDLAB 7104, SDLAB 7105, SDLAB 100/40, SDLAB 100/50 & SDLAB 100/60.

These chemicals are used in ETPs and STPs to control and reduce foaming that occurs in the primary, secondary, and tertiary stages of the treatment process.

Defoaming & Antifoaming Chemicals
